Who can submit resumes?
Anyone who believes God might be calling her/him to do so.
Will the committee consider candidate resumes turned in by church members?
The PSC welcomes member input and participation in the process. We will consider resumes submitted by candidates. If you know someone who might be a candidate, have her/him submit a resume.
Will we require the new pastor to live in New Kent County?
The church prefers that the next Pastor lives in New Kent. However, we will consider that question case by case.
What age, gender, and marital status are we looking for?
We have no direct guidance from the surveys. We will consider age, gender, and marital status case by case.
What about divorced candidates?
Case by case.
What if we don’t have a new Pastor by the end of the year?
We’re going to stay with it until the job is done.
How does our compensation package compare with other churches?
Our compensation pay is in line with churches of similar characteristics as Emmaus.
What are the PSC plans for keeping us informed?
The PSC will report a minimum of once a month both orally and in writing.
Will the PSC meet regularly?
We will meet at least once a month plus as many times as needed to meet the goal.
How can we (church members) be helpful and supportive?
Members can remain faithful to Emmaus in the coming months. Attend regularly. Give financially. Please ask questions freely. Pray, stay positive and participate in upcoming search events.
