Last fall the country of Indonesia suffered several devastating weather events from which they are still reeling. The earthquake and tsunami destroyed schools and churches, and hundreds of homes were buried in the resulting mudflow. At least 133,000 people were displaced. They are now in a recovery and rehabilitation phase. Families need assistance and start-up capital as they seek to rebuild their livelihood as well as homes, schools and churches. It will take years for the people of Indonesia to recover and rebuild. Many Baptist organizations around the world are joining together to help them. We plan to help by having an Offering for Indonesia during June. This money will be sent to the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and will be given to our missionaries in Indonesia to help with this effort.

***THE HEALTH MONTH which was originally planned for July has been postponed indefinitely.***
The Sewing Ministry has been very busy. They have made 48 pillow case dresses which will be sent to girls in Indonesia. Some of these were completed at church, but many
were completed at home. Thank you to everyone who participated in this
The Sewing Ministry met in May and completed 14 stuffed animals which will be
taken to the Sheriff’s department to be given to children in frightening or crisis
Thank you to Mary Gould, Betty Bowery and Janet Robinson for leading this ministry.
The Ministry will meet again on Saturday, June 8 at 10 AM. We will be making Christmas trees to go in our Christmas baskets. No sewing is needed for this project. Please come and help. It is a time of fellowship as well as ministry.
